For today's game you'll want to a friend, associate, neighbor, coworker, sibling, stranger, or acquaintance. Anyone which you can develop enough familiarity with in the next few minutes to destroy them utterly in a head to head battle.
The game of the day is 360 Degrees, one of the excellent creations of Andress Gysin. In this game you and an opponent do battle with pendulum-swinging, missile-firing, weapon things. Whichever player destroys the other wins.
Each player is given three keys to control their war-appliance. One key will control which direction the contraption's orbiting foot is moving. The second will plant the orbiting foot so your contrivance can walk. And the third button will fire its missiles. The number of missiles your machine can carry is limited but once it has been depleted you can restock your armory with missile stocks that appear in random places on the game screen.
360 Degrees is a top notch player versus player game. A friendly mechanical boxing match. With missiles. It's graphical simplicity is a great example of clean eye-friendly design. The designer COULD have assaulted every inch of the game with fancy graphical elements. But why? It wouldn't improve the game-play. In fact the game is easier enjoyed on a simple white field.
