Being ten years old Is all about protecting the world from bad guys, and having plenty of technologically advanced vehicles and weapons with which to carry out your mission. Nobody understands this better than the Marketeers at Lego.
Today's featured game is called Alpha Team: The First encounter and is a game made to promote Lego's Alpha Team line of action toys. But forget about that for a minute and check out the game. You're driving an Tundra Tracker (code named DD24) across a desert that has mysteriously been covered by snow and ice and you need to find out why. It couldn't be the evil skull faced minions who keep shooting at you from their scorpion shaped snow crawlers, could it? Hmmm.
Good thing your Tundra Tracker has Alpha mode which arms its handy and powerful Magma Drill to drill through ice blocks and enemies. Your rather nebulous mission is to explore the frozen desert and to stay alert and avoid cracks in the ice and enemies. Other than that you need to pick up energy pods and find bridge activators in order to cross bridges.
We like this game because it appeals to the ten year old boy in us. and although we hate to admit it we've spent more time playing this game than some of the other "more mature" drive 'em around and shoot 'em ups. Alpha Team agent reporting for duty!
