If you've ever wondered just how they make those hamsters dance to the music on those hamster dance pages or if you've always just want to create your own animations and share them with your friends. We found a little online widget that will keep you busy for hours.

Created by Manual Falmann for his excellent MindDistortion.net web site, Animotion is a widget that let's you create short animations using a selection of characters and backgrounds. This widget uses a very intuitive interface to create eight frame long animations. You can choose from ten different character sets, six backgrounds and five musical loops, all this means is that the possibilities are almost endless. All of the characters are based on other Mind Distortion games, which can be a little raw and violent for some taste. We dig 'em but some moms might freak when little johnny makes an animation of stick figure guy juggling heavy-duty firepower.

The animation controls are simple and intuitive allow for quite a bit of creativity. In fact, we wish some of the other animation tools out there were this simple. The musical loops are corny but add to the overall fun. Perhaps the coolest feature is that you can save and recall your creations on the Mind Distortion site. so you can share your stuff with a few thousand of your closest friends.

We like this widget because it's fun to create animations, Especially when it's so easy to use and and the results are so cool.
