You just gotta wonder how many arcade style spaceship shoot-'em-up games there are on the Web. Thousands certainly. To make one that stands out is quite a task and the makers of today's featured game are up to it.

Today's game is titled Antaris Real Space and it is the game that launched the ArcadeTown game site. To make a good space shooter you need a good back story, and in this game you are battling for the United Fleet in Antaris Real Space (your spaceship.) Fleet Command orders you to man the guns of the Antaris Real Space, protect the fleet and destroy the Katuri. Make it to the last mission and you can take on the dreaded Katuri Juggernaught Carrier. Sound like fun?

Your job is to use a barrage of fire to protect a fleet of friendly ships. Fail to protect the ships in your care and the mission is over, complete the mission and you get additional ships with increased power to protect in subsequent missions. One of the fun things in this game is that you can hold down the mouse button for continuous fire, which you'll need when the enemy starts coming in hard and fast.

We like this game for it's adrenaline pumping action. Throw in a little back story and what else do you need in a space shooter?
