Nothing gets your adrenaline going like a good first person shooter. The threat of sudden death from hidden enemies makes your pulse race and reaching out and touching some baddy with your rocket launcher can make your day. Finding a good FPS that you can play in your Web browser is even better.
Good first person shooters are tough to find, but we think we've found one of the best. if you dig blowing away aliens, you should check out Art Attack. In this excellently rendered 3-D Java game, you are lost in an Art gallery??? with robots out to get you. Good thing you happen to be carrying a rocket launcher.
The game action is smooth in this true 3-D game. It's really gratifying to pop off a few rounds just for the explosions and the marks they leave. You have to proceed carefully in this game because you only get one life. fortunately you can jot down level codes to pick up where you left off in your previous life. The trick of the game is to spot the robots a long way away, this isn't a close combat shoot 'em up. If they see you first, you're pretty much dead. You can mark your scores after every room you clear, which is good considering how hard it is to stay alive.
We Love this game because it's probably the best 3-D Java FPS out there. Graphics, sound and game-play are all excellent. From looking at the high score board it doesn't look like anybody has made it all the way through. Perhaps you'll be the first.
