If there are two kinds of game that get your adrenaline boiling, they would have to be 3-D first person shooters and 3-D racing games. If you combine these two, we're talking an adrenaline weapon of mass destruction.
Today's featured game is a demo of AutoFrag Sumo. It's sort of like Sumo wrestling in realistic 3-D environments, with machine guns, rockets and sand rails. We're talkin' a nitro-powered 3-D shoot 'em all and let God sort 'em out Carmegeddon. You choose between a variety of 3-D killing grounds for your battles. And you also get to choose between vehicles and you can modify them in your garage. The objet of the game is to be the last car alive in melee style battles against several opponents.
The online version is a Shockwave demo for the full featured shareware game. The downloadable game has more weapons, cars and arenas, as well as an extended soundtrack. But the online version will keep you busy for quite a while and will allow you to master the game before you spend any money. Did we mention that the 3-D graphics and physics are excellent in this game, and the soundtrack, as they say in the UK, is ace.
We like this game because it is a brilliant example of a 3-D Shockwave game that combines the trigger happy fun of a FPS and the skill of a driving game. Besides we've always wanted a sand rail with a rocket launcher and a .50 cal mounted.
