Flight sims and air combat sims walk a thin line between being easy enough to actually play and becoming merely a side scrolling or top-scrolling arcade game. Todays featured game is from someone who should know about flight simulators, the Royal Australian Air Force!
That's right mate! We're talking about F-18 Hornet , a high-flying game from down under. Unlike the U.S. Air Force, the Aussie Air Force uses the FA-18 as part of their air defense arsenal. In this game you get to fly the Hornet on several training and combat missions, all for free and in your web browser. Now THAT'S a fighter game.
This game has terrific 3-D graphics and is as fun and challenging as any online flight sim. Your challenge is to get through basic flight training and then go on missions to destroy enemy air and land targets. You fly using intuitive mouse controls and have both missiles and cannon at your disposal. Talk about the right stuff!
We like this game because a good Web based flight simulator is hard to find, and to find a jet air combat sim is even better. Time to get up in the wild blue down under and don't forget to check your six, mate.
