If someone can figure out a game where something shoots something else with something, they will. That is just the nature of shoot 'em up games. To think of something different enough to be interesting takes some effort.

Today's featured game is a 3-D shoot 'em up called Firefly. Where you are , believe it or not, a fire ball breathing firefly trying to get home. Standing (or hovering) in your way are hordes of other flying insects. You travel through tougher and tougher levels of beautiful 3-D environments blowing away other insects including giant caterpillars that guard the next levels. You must also avoid running into vegetation or mountains. And of course you want to gather up the power thingies.

This game has excellent 3-D graphics and sound. And has just the right mix of being challenging yet fun to play. It also has a high score board so you can prove just how good you are.

We like this game for the sheer fun of flying through lush terrain shooting things. And if you're going to waste a few minutes wasting things it had might as well be nasty insects.
