It's time to escape to the world of 2D, don't you think? And Flatland is about as 2D as one can get.
If you've heard of the 1880 novel, Flatland you know of what we speak. It was a story about a two-dimensional world inhabitated by sentient geometric shapes. In the game Flatland you play as an early 1980s two-dimensional arcade game character battling other two-dimensional arcade game enemies.
The controls are a little different than some of the recent games we've had here at Gamespotter in that the arrow keys aren't used at all. Don't worry, there are other keys that can be used. For example the I,K,j,L keys can also be used to move. And the Z key is a perfectly acceptable key for firing a weapon.
The graphics are reminicent of early 1980s arcade games and they glow with the pleasant colors of elegant simplicity. The gameplay is easy to figure out but gets harder as the game progresses.
