Galactic Horde is a multiplayer trading/exploring/fighting game that will take you from one end of the universe to the other. You can create your own station (known as a SF-Orbital), collect resources, upgrade your station, and explore the known universe.
The learning curve at the beginning is steep, but if you hang in there and read the manual the gameplay can be very satisfying.
