When we heard how badly American students did on geography test compared to the rest of the world, we said to ourselves "How tough can geography be." At the risk of feeling really stupid, we found a game puts our geographic smugness to the test.
Today's featured game is actually a series of games. but because it's topical we chose Geography-Middle East. They also have games for just about every other part of the world too. If you think you are hot just try Africa or Central America, we dare ya'. Back to the Middle East, If you think you know your Iran from your Iraq this is your game, although we have to admit Oman And Yemen tripped us up.
The games simply displays a country, province, or state name and you try to pick it out on a map of the region. Wrong guesses deduct from your score, but each game is not over until you correctly identify everything, so in that respect the game can become a good educational tool. Just don't be too embarrassed when your kid beats you.
We like this game because it's both fun and educational. And knowing where things are at in the world makes us better citizens, especially in this day and age.
