It is the weekend of the Masters. When amateur golfers around the world fantasize about winning the green jacket and start dreaming of smooth greens and long drives. If you can't get out to the links yet or just don't want to deal with crowds and greens fees, we have a game for you.
Continuing it's tradition of some of the finest online games, Nabisco-world brings us Golf course Amateur. This game is but one of four golf games on their site. They also have amateur and pro driving range games and a pro version of Golf Course. Given how tough the amateur version is , you might want to start with it before playing with the big boys. Golf course is a full 18 hole 3-D golf game of the quality you'd expect from a PC game but it's online and best of all it's free. Mastering the stroke technique takes some practice, but after you get it down you can start enjoying the strategy of playing the course.
Like other golf games, you aim your shots, choose your clubs and use your swing to guide the ball toward the hole. The swing uses a three click technique to determine the power and accuracy of your shots. And there is even wind to to factor in. The course itself is challenging and fun (unless your stuck in a bunker behind tall trees, But that's golf!)
We like this game because we love playing golf games and this one is as good as most and it's online and free. Now if we could figure out how to get a 300 yard drive with a slight fade in real life we'd have a shot at that green jacket. Yeah, right!
