If you have ever seen a border collie work a herd of sheep, or a cow dog wrangle cattle or even tried to get seven family members out the door and someplace on time, you appreciate the art of herding. It is an art of gentle coercion and patience. Today's featured game hones those skills.
The game is called Herd the Animals And since it is a freely downloadable game, you can find it on several game sites around the Web. We chose the Flashkit version because it one of the few sites that credits the author of the game. The idea of the game is to herd animals from the pasture to their pen. It starts simply enough with a herd of sheep, as you go up in levels you have to separate out different animals. The animals are repelled away from your mouse cursor just as if it were a herding dog. And you have to be careful not to lose animals by herding them off the screen.
If you try to move fast in this game you are going to lose fast. Patience is the key in this game. It's also a great game for kid's to teach them mousing skills as well as patience. And as an added bonus it's a freely downloadable and you can even put it on some PDAs and phones.
We like this game even though it won't wow you with it's graphics or sound. We find it relaxing to play and we like the clever concept of the game.
