Playing pinball is always fun. Playing pinball without being in a smokey bowling alley and spending a pocket full of Qs and picking up whatever disease the previous player left on the machine is even better. Today's featured game shows just how good online pinball can be.

Quad game's brings us an excellent online pinball game called High Gear. From the start when you hear the killer music you know this is a good one. In online pinball the hardest thing is to get the ball physics right. It's a difficult programming problem and once you get past that you have to design a game that feels realistic and has sustainable game-play. Quad succeeds on all counts.

From the time that you realize that you can move the top bonus lights with your flippers to the first time you capture a ball with your flippers you know this game is realistic. (Except for tilting, anyway.) Of course just like pinball at the bowling alley some clowns have posted insanely high scores for you to bat at. You'll have to be good to mark in this game. But as with most good games you have to take some time to figure out how the bonuses work, at least it's not costing you quarters.

We like this game because it's among the best online pinball games out there. And it's hard enough and enough other people play it that if you are on the high scoreboard you know you're a pinball wizard in your own right.
