Bringing the classic pool hall games of darts, billiards and Fooseball to the computer has met with limited success. There is just a 'hands-on" aspect to those games that is tough to capture with a computer . Also it's difficult to program realistic physics that will render in real time. However, if pool is your game, things just got a lot more realistic.
Today's featured game takes 3-d billiards to a new level. Oreo 3-D Billiards shows what a big development budget from someone like Nabisco can do for a game .If you like pool, you will love this realistic billiards game! Choose either a classic or modern gameroom, and then select what type of game you want to play, 8-ball, 9-ball, strait pool, hi-score and even a practice mode.
The game features excellent 3-D graphics and physics, and it features a variety of 3-D views as well as an overhead view. Aiming, english and shooting are all handled well in this game. Although getting the feel to shoot softly does take some practice. There are usually beginner and pro modes for each game and you can choose to play against another player or the computer. Also don't expect the computer opponent in this game to cut you any slack, It doesn't make mistakes. This will probably make you a better player and makes you to play a strategy, rather than just make shots in order to win the game.
We love this game because finally someone has come out with a realistic pool sim as a Web game. This is one game that can help your game play when you get to play on a real table. All we can say is "Rack 'em up and break!"
