How would you like to be a hero for a day? Not the kind that fights and gets killed, but the kind that rescues strangers from perilous situations. There's trouble in the tropics and only you can save the day!
In today's featured game you pilot the RescueBlade helicopter into the most dangerous situations on the planet to put out fires, save stranded citizens and try to make it back alive. It takes nerves of steel and a steady hand to fly the chopper and skill to lower the rescue diver and to use the fire equipment. Not to mention managing fuel and damage to your machine.
While this game is in essence a 2-D scroller, it uses excellent pseudo-3-D graphics for a realistic feel. Flying, hovering and landing the helicopter don't feel too arcade-like and nice little touches like your rotors fanning flames add to the realism. Be aware that in order to play the advanced levels of this game you must be a GameBlast subscriber.
We like this game because it combines the skills of a flight sim and the fun of an arcade game. Besides taking a break from shooting and fighting to rescue people from certain death kinda feels good.
