Okay, we'll admit it, We liked the original "Mask" movie, which was a vehicle for comedian Jim Carrey. Now several years later comes "Son of the Mask" which capitalizes on the cute baby with super-powers theme and is a vehicle for comedian Alan Cumming. And as is often the case with new movies there is an online game site to promote this one.
Although we can't tell you much about the movie , we can talk about the Son of the Mask Arcade game site. The arcade features three games and two online coloring books. It's a strange brew of kid and adult on this site with games like racing, boxing and pinball contrasting with the coloring books. Don't get us wrong though, these games are slick, big budget slick. Like budget that should've been spent on the movie slick. Ah, but we digress.
The games are pretty much what you would expect. The pinball game is good, but not the greatest one out there and we can pretty much say the same thing about the racing and boxing game. Although we disappointed that the racing game requires an e-mail address. Hmm, now why would they want that? We like the coloring books because they are well executed and are age appropriate.
Overall all we like this site like we like a quick sugar buzz. It's slick, and fun, and like the movie won't be around forever. Now if we can just figure out how the mask turned from the ancient Chinese artifact in the first movie to the lost Norse god treasure in the second movie...
