You'll have to rewind your mind back to World War II for today's game.

That's because, in case you didn't guess from the name, Spitfire Assault, the game takes place in World War II.

The skies above Germany are a deathtrap but you've been sent on a dangerous mission anyway. You'll have to avoid barrage ballons, dodge flak, and shoot down Messershmitts. The controls exceed ease. You're only controls are the left mouse button to climb and descend, and your space bar to fire your guns.

The fantasy of flying a Spitfire is the main draw of this game. The arcade action, while challenging, isn't very engaging and it doesn't seem fair that enemy planes aren't affected by the barrage balloons. The graphics are inconsistently great and disappointing at the same time.
