We've all played the traditional tank or artillery game where you adjust your ballistics, take a shot at the target and readjust your angle and fire again. Today's game is just such a game, but taken to the extreme.
The game is called simply Tanks. What makes it different from other turn-based 2-D ballistic games is that this one allows up to four players, computer or human. That alone makes it interesting. But then factor in a selection of 12 different weapons that you can earn and a slew of other options for your tank ranging from armor to power up hills and you've got one very sophisticated tank game. And did we mention that the action can take place in a variety of terrains?
As you survive different levels of the game you can upgrade your weapons and other options. Weapons range from small missiles to Nukes to coordinated air strikes. And since this is a turn-based game you can't move while the other players take their best shots, so armor upgrades are advised. The fun in this game is pitting your skills and strategy against other humans, but honing your skills against computer opponents is quite challenging. especially if you set the AI to to it's most difficult setting.
We like this game because of all the tweaking you can do in it, It's not just what angle you fire your projectile but a whole host of other variables come into play. There's nothing like wiping out several enemies with a single well chosen weapon. And the multi-player aspect makes this game even more fun.
