Feature Game For 2004-12-04
Airfox

Whether it's movies or games, setting them in a post apocalyptic world makes for easy story lines. Today's featured game is set in a watery world thanks to melting ice caps and no thanks to Kevin Costner.

In this arcade style top-scrolling game called AirFox you are a AirFox pilot whose mission is basically shoot everything that moves and most of the things that don't. You don't have to worry about hitting your own supply ships because they are miraculously impervious to your fire. Enemy scout ships die easily but can still shoot and kill you, the enemy's larger ships take a little more effort to kill. You also get to strafe trains and buildings.

Don't confuse this with a sophisticated 3-D game, because it is a classic arcade style top-scroller that brings back memories of how many hours and quarters you you used spend playing this kind of game. While the graphics are cool this game doesn't even have sound, one presumes to keep it's size and download times to a minimum. or making it easier to play in an office cubicle.

We like this game for it's nostalgia factor, it's fun shoot 'em up action, and that it doesn't star Kevin Costner.
