Play any racing game for long enough and inevitably it will degenerate into a demolition derby. There is just something satisfying about mayhem without the consequences.
Today's featured game revels in destruction. In Maniac Racers to goal is to race past eight checkpoints to the finish line (yeah Right!) OR to waste all the other racers without becoming wasted yourself. The strategy lies in choosing the right car for the job. Do you want light, nimble and fast or heavy and lumbering but with the power to destroy in a single blow?
This is a top down view 2-D race game but that doesn't take away from the fun. It may start out as a race but it quickly turns into a search and destroy mission. You can try the quick approach, but soon you'll find that that the AI on this game is a relentless pursuer. Better to kill first than try to outrun.
We like this game for the sheer joy of wanton destruction. When we have another car in our sights, there is only one thing to say. "Ramming speed!"
