Penguins are funny. They can't help it. Talking penguins are even funnier. Walking, talking, snowball throwing, dancing penguins are a riot.
If you take a simple chat room and cover it with snow and fill it with penguin avatars you end up with Penguin Chat. In this little world you create a penguin avatar that can walk around and chat with other penguins. You can also dance, tell jokes throw snow balls and generally have a good time playing with other penguins. Just the kinda place you want to hang out.
As chat rooms go, Penguin chat is not too complex. You can't block offensive chatters and it is unmoderated. So take precautions to protect your children or your own privacy. That caveat aside, all the penguins we've met have been quite civil. Another features that make this chat different are the "tell a joke" button which tells a pre programed joke and of course the obligatory smiley selector. Not only that, you can walk around, sit down and throw snowballs.
We like Penguin Chat because it makes your standard chat room fun. And it isn't too demanding like some avatar worlds. If you're look for a friendly place on the web to just hang out and chat, head to the south pole.
