One thing we hate about a lot of Web games is that you are forced to play a postage stamp sized game on a page with huge distracting flashing ads. It's not only the crass commercialism that bothers us, it's also that they slow down the games and even crash your browser. Yuk!
Not so with today's featured game. Snowy: Puzzle Islands is an absolutely gorgeous game that you play in a full screen window. We wonder why other developers can't take a lesson from this game's developer, Alawar Entertainment. While the main game site does have ads and tries to sell you it's shareware games, once you are playing the game you get to play it in all of it's full screen glory. And did we mention how great this game is.
In Puzzle Islands you guide the character, Snowy, through series of islands that are basically mazes. The object is to get through each level by completing task and solving puzzles. It's also a great game for kids The large cursor is great for little hands and the puzzles are great for teaching problem solving.
We can't say enough good things about this game. If you're going to let your kids play online games, this is a good one, and when you can finally kick them off, you can have fun playing it as well.
