Most kids are out of school this week for the winter break and most parents are on the verge of insanity. If you are a parent looking for an alternative to zombies in front of the TV or M-rated auto theft on the game system, or if you're a kid looking for a cool computer game that your parents will let you play, you should check out today's game.
This game is a companion to the popular math mystery cartoon on PBS Kids Go. CYBERCHASE: THE QUEST lets kids create their own cyber characters, and go on action-packed quests throughout Cyberspace. At least, the Cyberspace of the PBS TV show "Cyberchase". Your quest is to travel about Cyberspace gathering objects to help protect Motherboard from Hacker and bugs. You get to invent your own Cyberkid character and you have to earn your own way about, no fancy expense account or trust fund here and you only have 100 Snelfus to start out with.
As you wander through the Cyberspace environment you'll will find games to play, people to talk to, task to complete and objets to collect. While your quest is to help save Mother-B by collecting the objects that she needs to defend herself, collecting a few thousand Snelfus along the way does hurt. If the task you're asked to complete sound a little like math class thats because this game is educational. PBS, go figure.
We love this game as a good place for children to spend time on the internet. It's safe, it's educational, it's expansive and excellently implemented and most of all it's NOT BORING!
