Who is to say that playing with blocks, Legos, Lincoln logs, Erector sets or similar modular construction devices are strictly for kids? If you enjoy building things but don't want to clean up the mess from the coffee table before guest arrive, today's featured widget is for you.
In this toy your blocks aren't made of wood or plastic, they are made of pixels! Hence the title PixelArt. The object is to build things using colored blocks of various shapes and sizes on a virtual isometric grid, just like the blocks back in nursery school but without the virtual isometric grid part. You can even save and show off your creations to thousands of people from around the world, try doing that with wooden blocks.
You have a good collection of blocks in various sizes, shapes and colors, including pillar sets and glass with which you can build with. You use the arrow keys to toggle your block selection and to rotate the view. And you simply drag blocks onto the grid to place them. And you can even toggle the grid on and off. After you've finished you can save and share your construct, however, you do have to register with the site in order to save and share your creations,
We like this widget simply because it's fun and creative. If you like building things, whether it's robots, architectural visualizations or just abstract sculpture you'll enjoy playing with these blocks.
