Life! Don't talk to us about life. Ever since there have been computers, some programmer had to show how smart they were by making an artificial life game. These games take forever to run and are mostly understood by a small group of math geeks.
While today's featured game is just as complex as the classic life games, It is far more entertaining. The game is called The RGB game after the three primary colors of light. Your goal is create artificial organisms that can thrive within the artificial environment. Each organism is created from a combination of three color characteristics. Red represents the speed of your creature, and green and blue represent longevity and eyesight respectively.
After you design your organism you set it loose in the environment, where its goal is to eat and reproduce. you are are scored by how successful your creations are as well as how much entropy they create within the environment. You can release a variety or creatures but each new creature you introduce reduces your score by 20%. So you want to introduce as few species as possible that will sustain themselves.
We like this game because it is fascinating but not as arcane as most "life" type games. Also with stats and a high score board it allows you to judge just how good of a god you are.
