Well. Here we are growing old with dignity. Waiting for the government to send us our Social Security Checks. That's dignity? Waitin' fer' yer own money? For many the rewards of a long life are; Gray hair, wrinkled puss, and years of nursing home limbo. If you're lucky, confusion will usurp your wit and you'll forget who you are. Ahhh. It's not all that bad. Sometimes gettin' old just means that things move at a different pace. A faster pace.
Like in today's featured game, Gran Prix. With a walker and motivating clock to beat, Granny is racing to a chair lift.
There are obstacles in her ridiculously long living-room that she'll have to avoid, but there are also prune, bran, and cabbage boosters to help her along. If Granny trips or whacks her noggin' she'll lose any boosters she has collected.
The arrow keys on your new fangled computer control this video game. Speed up and slow down with the right and left arrows. Jump and dive-roll with the up and down arrows. To give the doddering old woman a boost, hit the space-bar.
This kind of game has been around since button shoes. That means it's old fashioned game-play. And it's too dang short. Why, in my day, games had levels. You kids and your, "playing the same level over and over". Talk about lazy. That said, Gran Prix did give us a chuckle or two. The old gal looks great, and the music was the cat's pajamas.
Now go play. We're going to take a nap.
