Anyone for tennis? Yes? No? ... Why we ask questions when we know we can't hear your answer is beyond our meager mental abilities to answer.
Today's game features Wimbledon star Tim Henman, but this isn't a tennis game. Rather it's, Tim Ball Pinball, a pinball game with a tennis theme. The traditional metal sphere has been replaced with a tennis ball and the paddles with tennis racquets. Usual pinball rules apply; Launch the ball to begin the game, don't tilt the game, and use the racquets to keep the ball in play. Keeping the ball in play is how you accumulate points.
This is a best looking pinball game with a tennis theme that we've ever seen. The game's layout is fairly good, and you're eye will be presented with pleasant graphics. We also appreciated that the bouncing tennis ball had the proper bouncing dynamics that gave it a tennis ball feel. However, what the game has in aesthetics it lacks in game-play. As a pinball game Tim Ball Pinball is extremely easy to master. Too easy. With only two paddles and plenty of time to use them players aren't going to find much challenge playing this game and pinball fans are going to miss features that appear in other pinball games. For example the ability to control the amount of force applied when launching the ball at the beginning of each life. And finally, the awkward crash detection weakens the game further as it adds the critical element of frustration.
