Aaannnd we're back with our newly revamped Gamespotter website. You may have noticed that there's a new pixel that wasn't there before. If you did, congratulations, it's time you got your eyes checked.
Today's game is a 3D horse jumping game titled, Show jumping. In this game you mount your selected mount and navigate your way through a series of obstacles which you encourage your equine buddy to hurdle. If your jump is correctly timed the horse will follow physical laws and rise above the ground with the highest point of the parabola directly over the impediment. There's a limited time to qualify for the next level so don't stop and pat yourself on the back for knowing what a parabola is. Get through the course as quickly as you can so you can move on.
You control your trusty steed with the up and down arrows. Up will goad your horse to pick up speed, and the down arrow will hold your horse and make him stop. The right and left arrows are coincidentally used to steer the horse right and left. You make your horse jump by digging your heals into his flanks and pulling up on the reigns. Or you can press the space-bar. Holding the space-bar longer will make him jump higher. Hold it too long and the jump will fizzle into a hop and you'll hit the obstacle and receive a time penalty.
This game gets four out of five Hi-Ho-Silvers for its galloping game-play and the sturdy 3D graphics that don't horse around. What we're trying to say is, we went ape over this game. It would have gotten five of our Hi-Ho-Silvers but although this is a great game four levels aren't enough. It would have gotten five of our Hi-Ho-Silvers but with a great game like this, four levels just aren't enough. What we're trying to say is, we went ape over this game and hope you'll hop on and take Show Jumping for a ride.
The would have gotten Six out of five Hi-Ho-Silvers if we could have played as the Lone Ranger.
