If you have ever played one of those arcade games where you move the crane arm around to pick-up prizes, you know how hard it can be to control a robotic arm, Today's game takes that skill to the limit.
While it's a little hard to find this game since the author removed it from his site, If you can find it, Robotik is worth the search. The game itself is simple and elegant, all you have to do is move a robotic arm and pick up springs. The springs are supposed to be repair parts for your arm, so it is vital to pick-up as many as possible in the alloted time. The trouble is that you have to be very clever with arm in order to get at some of the springs.
The arm itself has three articulated joints. You can toggle between these joints by using the left and right arrow keys. And then you move the arm segments by using the up and down arrow keys. The game is more about problem-solving than just flailing about, some of the spring placements are darn near impossible to get at. it takes clever planning and execution to get at them.
We like this game because it's puzzle game and an arcade game rolled into a simple elegant package. We just wish that the game was still up on the author's site, so we don't have to wade through all the ads on the other sites.
